Directions: From Hwy 101 in Novato, take the exit for Atherton Ave, east 1.7 miles. Turn right onto Olive Ave and left onto Deer Island Ln. The gate is on your right.

Come along for a fun guided walk with a ranger through the beautiful trails of Deer Island! Let's delve into the intriguing history of the area while soaking in a stunning sunrise. Bring your camera—great photo ops await if the weather is nice! The De Borba trail features a steep but short ascent to the ridge. The hike will cover a distance of 1.6 miles with an elevation gain of 150 feet. Friendly dogs are okay, but must be on a leash. Adverse weather or poor air quality conditions may result in cancellation. Check the calendar or call (415) 473-2816 two hours before the event to confirm the status. Registration is required.
