Rock Spring Guided Hike (Rooted in the Watershed Series)
Rooted in the Watershed Guided Hike Event Series: Join One Tam staff for our summer Rooted in the Watershed guided hike series, where we travel from peak to Pacific through the forests of Marin County. Starting on Mt. Tamalpais, we will follow the water all the way out to Lagunitas Creek, stopping at several forest types on the way. This series encourages folks to reflect upon how our parks are connected through the watershed they share, and how, through collaborative management, we can foster more resilient landscapes. ***These hikes have a registration cap; RSVPs are required! Event details including meeting locations will be provided upon registration. RSVP HERE: https://forms.gle/UEvnKKLUFyCpSZqX9
Sargent Cypress Guided Hike at Rock Spring: Starting up on Mt. Tamalpais, Marin Water staff will lead the first hike in the series up at Rock Spring! During this hike, we will investigate our unique Sargent Cypress stands and discuss the ecology and geology that makes these California endemics thrive on Mt. Tam. Folks should be prepared to hike about 2.5 miles. Trail is steep and rocky for a short section and overall is moderate to difficult. Hiking poles are recommended. Parking is free!
