Open Space After Dark

Step into a different world as night falls over Mount Burdell. Join Open Space Rangers for an evening adventure along the trails, where you'll discover the hidden lives of nocturnal animals. As the preserve quiets and the stars begin to shine, we'll tune into the rhythms of the night and explore how the land transforms after sunset. We'll be hiking on trails and fire roads with some elevation gain and uneven terrain, including loose rocks and gravel. The total distance will be up to two miles, though we may hike less depending on conditions and group pace. Appropriate for all ages. Please dress in layers and wear sturdy shoes. Bring a flashlight. Adverse weather or poor air quality may cancel. Call (415) 473-2816 two hours before the event to confirm the status. Registration required.
