Family Walk: Blackstone Canyon

secluded valley below the rugged east end of Big Rock Ridge is a great place to look for animals that are attracted to the creek. We’ll take a slow walk through the canyon to see what we can find. Total miles: 1.5. There is little elevation change. No pets (except service dogs) are allowed. Adverse weather or poor air quality may cancel. Registration is required.

Directions: Meet at the end of Valleystone Dr in San Rafael. From Highway 101 in San Rafael take the Marinwood St Vincent’s Dr exit, west on Miller Creek Rd 0.3 miles. Turn right onto Las Gallinas Ave 0.4 miles, then left onto Blackstone Dr 0.2 miles. Stay left and follow Valleystone Dr, park at end.
