Winter in the Canyon

This walk is for 18 and up. There’s no better time than this to enjoy the beauty of this preserve; the creeks are flowing, and the waterfall should be spectacular. Along the way we'll keep an eye out for fish, salamanders, early blooming flowers, and if the sun is shining, we might even find some of the first butterflies of the season. When the creek is full, we have to use a trail that is cut into a stone bank above the water. This narrow section can be slippery and challenging. Pay attention to street signs when parking. Remember to bring binoculars if you have them.

Rain may cancel. If questionable weather, call (415) 473-6087 after 8am on the morning of the event to hear a recorded message if cancelled. We request that no pets (except service animals) attend.

No registration is required.

Questions: Contact Shannon Burke at (415) 473-6086.

Directions: From Hwy 101 in Larkspur, take the exit for Sir Francis Drake Blvd west to Fairfax 5.3 miles. Turn left onto Pacheco Ave, turn right onto Broadway and make first left onto Bolinas Rd 0.4 miles, slight right onto Cascade Dr (at the stop sign) continue about 1.5 miles to the gate (dead end). Parking is limited.
