Summertime Birds

This walk is for ages 18 and up. This is one of the best spots in the county to witness the winding down of the breeding season. Many birds are still singing, some are tending nests, and fledged young are following their parents around, begging for food.  Western bluebirds, Bullock’s orioles, and lazuli buntings deliver an elaborate color scheme, while house wrens, lark sparrows, and warbling vireos provide background vocals. Remember to bring binoculars if you have them.

We request that no pets (except service animals) attend. No registration is required.

Extreme weather conditions cancel: Call (415) 473-6087 after 7:00 a.m. on the morning of the event to hear a recorded message if canceled.

Questions: Contact Shannon Burke at SBurke@marincounty.org.
