Roy's Redwoods Preserve
Tuesday, September 23, 2025, 9am – 12pm

**This is a location and time change from Big Rock Ridge to Roy's Redwoods due to high temperature forecasts**
In the heart of San Geronimo Valley, Roy's Redwoods Preserve is home to a vital old-growth redwood forest. This is a perfect place to spend the morning on a hot day. Last year Marin County Parks undertook one of our largest restoration projects to date. We'll get an early start to explore the newly completed trails and learn about the project. We’ll discuss what makes redwoods and redwood forests unique while keeping an eye out for birds and any other creatures we find along the way. Total miles: 2. Elevation change: 350'. Remember to bring binoculars if you have them. No pets (except service dogs) are allowed. Adverse weather or poor air quality may cancel. Registration is required. (If you previously registered for the Big Rock walk you do not need to re-register).
Questions: Contact Shannon Burke
Directions: Meet at the Roy’s Redwoods Loop trailhead on Nicasio Valley Rd in San Geronimo. From Hwy 101 in Larkspur, take the exit for Sir Francis Drake Blvd west 10.8 miles, turn right onto Nicasio Valley Rd. Gate is approximately 0.5 miles up on the right.
