Bring your enthusiasm and appetite for a day by the lake! Marin Municipal Water District (MMWD) is looking for volunteers to help with improvements to the Gertrude Ord Trail along the shady side of Phoenix Lake and to join with other volunteers for a FREE BBQ lunch afterward. Projects will include rebuilding a bridge and stairs, improving drainage, and vegetation maintenance.
Meet at the top of Phoenix Lake dam. The gate at Natalie Coffin Greene Park will be open from 8:30-9:00 a.m. and from 2:00-2:30 p.m. so volunteers can park next to the dam (there is space for 25 vehicles). People who arrive late or need to leave early will need to find their own parking. MMWD will provide an assortment of breakfast snacks (fruit, donuts, and juice) and then a full BBQ lunch at 1:00 by the Log Cabin! Arrive by 9am for breakfast snacks, sign-in, safety instructions and project assignments. All volunteers receive a free t-shirt. Mandatory safety briefing begins at 9 A.M. sharp
