The Johnstone and Jepson Trails

Meet at the Jepson/Johnstone trailhead in Tomales Bay State Park.
Tuesday, July 20, 2021, 10am – 2pm
We’ll descend slowly through a lush, shaded forest of Bishop pines as we make our way down to Tomales Bay where we’ll enjoy lunch on one of the finest beaches in the county. If we’re lucky we might be entertained by terns and bat rays as we eat. The walk back up from the beach is a sustained climb.
Remember to bring lunch, and binoculars if you have them. Extreme weather conditions cancel: Call (415) 473-6087 after 8 am on the morning of the event to hear a recorded message if canceled. We request that no pets (except service animals) attend.

Directions: From Hwy 101 in Larkspur, take the exit for Sir Francis Drake Blvd west 20.4 miles to Olema. Turn right onto Hwy 1 and go 2 miles. Turn left onto Sir Francis Drake Blvd and go 6.4 miles to Pierce Point Road. Go right 1.0 miles, trailhead is on the right. If you get to the entrance to Heart’s Desire you’ve gone too far.
