Hamilton Wetlands

What was once part of an Air Force base, the old Hamilton airfield is now an expansive network of tidally influenced wetlands and ponds. This newly restored area has become a magnet for shorebirds and waterfowl. We’ll discuss the identification and life histories of these birds as we stroll along the level fire road skirting the wetlands. And as a special treat, we'll be joined by Christina McWhorter, Director of Novato Baylands Stewards, who will discuss the extensive revegetation work being done here.

Please remember to bring a lunch and binoculars if you have them. We request that no pets (except service animals) attend this event.

Air Quality Index (AQI) that exceeds 150 on AirNow.gov, or other extreme weather may cancel events. Check the calendar or call (415) 473-6086 after 8 am on the morning of the event to hear a recorded message if canceled.

No registration is required.
