Carson Ridge

This walk is for 18 and up. This hike begins with a slow climb up the Pine Mountain Fire Road through serpentine chaparral. From the ridge we’ll descend through a shaded forest lush with ferns, milkmaids, and, if we’re lucky, blooming fetid adder’s tongue. Then we’ll have lunch beside the waterfall, which is one of the few remaining breeding sites in Marin for the rare foothill yellow-legged frog. Remember to bring binoculars if you have them.

Rain may cancel. If questionable weather, call (415) 473-6087 after 8am on the morning of the event to hear a recorded message if cancelled. We request that no pets (except service animals) attend.

No registration is required.

Questions: Contact Shannon Burke at (415) 473-6086.

Directions: From Hwy 101 in Larkspur, take the exit for Sir Francis Drake Blvd west to Fairfax 5.3 miles. Turn left onto Pacheco Ave, turn right onto Broadway and make first left onto Bolinas Rd 3.8 miles (1.3 miles past the entrance to the Meadow Club). The parking area is on the left.
