Beginning Birding
Sunday, December 14, 2025, 9 – 11am

Join a ranger for a birding adventure at Rush Creek! During our hike, we'll discuss the various birds commonly found in the area at this time of year, unique attributes of different bird groups, and tips for beginners on bird identification. After our walk, we'll have lunch and share all the interesting facts we've learned about birds. Please dress in layers and wear sturdy shoes. Remember to bring a water bottle, binoculars if you have them, and a snack. The hike will cover a distance of 1.25 miles with an elevation gain of 260 feet. Adverse weather or poor air quality conditions may result in cancellation. Check the calendar or call (415) 473-2816 two hours before the event to confirm the status. Registration is required.
