Mt. Tamalpais Litter Abatement Orientations - Marin Water

Marin Water

Have you ever been out in nature and come across litter, wishing you had some way to remove it from the ecosystem? Maybe you've even gone so far as to hike it out in your backpack--having to use your hands to pick up the trash in the process

At Marin Water, we will give you all necessary equipment to reduce litter on the trails as you are recreating. By joining us for 15 minutes, you will receive a training on how to use supplied litter grabbers, where to find bags for found trash, and the best places to drop off found garbage and returned equipment after your day on the trails.

After this orientation, you are free to come back to Mt Tamalpais and volunteer any time you like! Any day you spend helping us with the litter abatement program, you can also pick up a volunteer parking pass for lots across Marin Water lands. With almost 20,000 acres of critical habitat under our management, our small staff is extremely grateful for any stewardship efforts made by motivated volunteers.

NOTE: We are hoping to add several more dates for the coming month; please email us at volunteerprogram@marinwater.org if you or others you know would like to propose alternative times or to schedule a group volunteering session!
