Stinson Beach Cleanup and Collaborative Sand Art-Making

  • Beach Cleanup: 12pm — 4pm (Arrive anytime)
  • Collaborative Sand Art-Making: 2pm — 5pm

Where: Stinson Beach

Come lend a hand at one of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area's most beautiful beaches — Stinson Beach! Help us protect endangered species and marine animals from the dangers of human-made trash, as well as keep our beach looking nice and safe for everyone who visits! After beach cleanup, join in with environmental artist Zach Pine for collaborative sand art-making, including instruction on making sculptures and playing games with sand globes.

Groups of five or more may require special arrangements and must be confirmed in advance. Visit our Groups volunteer page to learn more.

Age, Skills, What to Bring:

  • Volunteers of all ages are welcome. Read our Youth Policy Guidelines (PDF) for youth under the age of 15.

  • Bring your completed Volunteer Agreement Form (PDF). Volunteers under the age of 18 must have the parent/guardian approval section signed.

  • Wear clothes that can get dirty. Long pants and closed-toe shoes are required. Bring layers for changing weather.

  • Bring a personal water bottle and sunscreen.

  • No experience necessary.

  • Training and tools will be provided. 

COVID-specific Guidelines:

  • Stay home and DO NOT attend if you:

    • Have any illness symptoms

    • Have tested positive for COVID-19

    • Suspect you have had contact with a COVID-19 positive case

  • Face coverings and social distancing are encouraged, but not required.
