Spiders

This is a great place to see many species of spiders that represent a variety of arachnid lifestyles. We’ll explore the biology of spiders in general and learn how to identify many common species as we discuss their life histories. Total miles: 2. There is little elevation change but there is a short, steep climb between the parking area and the main trail. This walk is offered in partnership with Marin Water. Remember to bring lunch, and binoculars if you have them. No pets (except service dogs) are allowed. Adverse weather or poor air quality may cancel.

Registration is required. Use the automated system to sign up or cancel; event leaders do not manage registration.

Questions about the walk: Contact Shannon Burke at SBurke@marincounty.org.

Directions: Meet at the Lake Lagunitas parking area. Due to road repairs expect delays and give yourself extra time to get there. From Hwy 101 in Larkspur, take the exit for Sir Francis Drake Blvd west 5.3 miles to Fairfax. Turn left onto Pacheco Ave, immediate right onto Broadway Blvd, left onto Bolinas Rd for 1.8 miles. Turn left onto Sky Oaks Rd. At approximately 0.5 miles, stop and pay $8 parking fee, then follow signs to Lake Lagunitas (end of Sky Oaks Rd).
