All About Oaks

Oaks and their acorns are vitally important to a broad spectrum of animals (including humans). We’ll discuss the role of these trees in local ecosystems as we compare several oak species and a few interesting hybrids. Some trail sections are fairly steep.

Please remember to bring a lunch and binoculars if you have them. We request that no pets (except service animals) attend this event.

Adverse weather or Air Quality Index (AQI) that exceeds 150 on may cancel events. Check the calendar or call (415) 473-6086 after 8 am on the morning of the event to hear a recorded message if canceled.

Directions: Meet at the gate on Deer Island Ln in Novato. From Hwy 101 in Novato, take the exit for Atherton Ave east 1.7 miles. Turn right onto Olive Ave and left onto Deer Island Ln. The gate is on your right.
