Saturday, March 3, 2018, 9 am-Noon: Volunteer Workday at Horse Hill - Hosted by One Tam and Mill Valley Parks and Recreation
Volunteer Workday at Horse Hill - Hosted by One Tam and Mill Valley Parks and Recreation
Meeting Location: Horse Hill
Join Marin County Parks, One Tam, and the Alto Bowl Horseowners Association to restore Horse Hill Preserve. Over the past 20 years we have made strides toward eradicating broom but we still need your help to clear this fire-prone species and restore the hill to California native grassland. We will celebrate our efforts at the end of the day with lunch and a visit from the horses!
This event is part of Nature Space: a new program offered in partnership with Mill Valley Parks and Recreation to offer a new way for residents to connect to Mt. Tam. Through Nature Space, participants can learn more about the area’s amazing natural resources and wildlife, meet local naturalists and scientists working in the region, and pitch-in on habitat restoration.
We will work rain or shine! The forecast for Saturday includes rain or light showers so bundle up and bring your rain gear and sturdy shoes that can get muddy, along with your water bottle. We will cancel only if the rain becomes severe and creates potentially unsafe working conditions. In the event of possible unsafe working conditions, call 415.473.3778 after 7 AM on the morning of the event to hear a recorded message that will confirm or cancel the program. We provide snacks, lunch and all tools. Youth under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult unless prior consent has been arranged.
No registration required, but RSVPs are appreciated!
